Wine killing women:- A recent study discovered that even drinking moderate amounts of alcohol can be bad for women’s hearts. Presented at the American College of Cardiology’s Annual Scientific Session, the study showed that young to middle-aged women who drank more than one alcoholic drink per day were at a higher risk of heart disease compared to those who drank less. Researchers from Kaiser Permanente Northern California conducted the study.

Wine killing women:- The study looked at 432,265 people aged 18 to 65. These participants had no history of heart disease or stroke. Over the next four years, the research team checked which patients were diagnosed with coronary heart disease.

The research showed that young to middle-aged women who drank 8 or more alcoholic drinks per week, which is more than one per day on average, had a 33% to 51% higher chance of getting coronary heart disease than those who drank less. Women who binge drank were 68% more likely to get heart disease, and men who binge drank were 33% more likely to get heart disease.
