Threats to mobile user :-The DoT has warned people about WhatsApp calls coming from foreign phone numbers (like +92-xxxxxxxxxx) where scammers pretend to be government officials and trick people.

Threats to mobile user :-What do these calls talk about?

The government warns that scammers use these calls to scare people into giving personal information for financial scams. The Telecom department says they don’t authorize these calls and advises people to be careful and not share any information if they get such calls.
The DoT suggests people report these scam calls on its ‘Chakshu-Report Suspected Fraud Communications’ page on the Sanchar Saathi website (www.sancharsaathi.gov.in).

The DoT also wants people to check the mobile connections listed under their name on the Know Your Mobile Connections page of the Sanchar Saathi website (www.sancharsaathi.gov.in). If they find any mobile connection that isn’t theirs, they should report it.

Furthermore, if users become victims of cybercrime or financial fraud, they can report such calls or messages through the cyber-crime helpline number 1920 or the website www.cybercrime.gov.in.

Threats to mobile user:- How to report such calls via WhatsApp.

The government has provided ways for users to report fraudulent calls or messages, and WhatsApp also has features to help stop users from getting these calls.
The messaging app lets users silence calls from unknown numbers, so if a number isn’t saved in their phone, the calls won’t make noise. Also, users can block specific numbers on WhatsApp.
Remember, these options don’t stop spam calls on WhatsApp. But they can be useful if you keep getting spam calls.
