Stuart Broad thinks RCB should make a bold choice by dropping Cameron Green. He believes the team isn’t balanced with him in it.

Stuart Broad advised RCB to make a brave move by dropping Cameron Green, who they got this season in a big trade deal from MI for ₹17.5 crore.

In the new season, Royal Challengers Bangalore still have the same problems with their bowling as they’ve had for many years. Even though the team name has changed this season, the bowlers are still causing problems for them in the early stages of the Indian Premier League 2024.
The team from Bengaluru hasn’t worked well together on the field, losing two out of their first three matches. Depending too much on Virat Kohli might remind fans of past times when the team didn’t do well in terms of getting the results they wanted.

Stuart Broad:- After the women’s team won the WPL title on their second try, the men’s team felt pressure to win the IPL trophy, which they haven’t won since the season began. Even though RCB spent a lot of money in the IPL 2024 auction, their bowling isn’t strong, with Mohammed Siraj as their main bowler. They don’t have a top-level international spinner who can change the game by themselves.

Stuart Broad:- On the other hand, Alzarri Joseph, their expensive purchase in the auction for ₹11.50 crore, hasn’t shown any positive results yet. The tall Caribbean fast bowler has only taken 1 wicket and given away runs with an economy rate of 11.9.

The famous batting lineup hasn’t played as well as everyone hoped. Faf du Plessis, Cameron Green, and Glenn Maxwell haven’t made much of a difference yet, so far, it’s mostly been Virat Kohli leading the team with his batting.

Stuart Broad, the famous English fast bowler, talked to the media, including Hindustan Times, and gave his thoughts on RCB’s poor start to the current season. He mentioned the team’s lack of trophies, despite having legendary players like AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle in the past, and even with Virat Kohli still playing.

Stuart Broad responded to ‘ question on the Star Sports Press Room Show, saying, “Many people have different opinions about RCB. It’s surprising that despite having great players like De Villiers, Gayle, and Kohli, they haven’t won big trophies.”

Meanwhile,Stuart Broad explained RCB’s difficulties this season, saying that their batting isn’t a worry even though Faf and Maxwell haven’t performed well yet. He noted that Kohli seems focused on scoring many runs with the T20 World Cup coming up.

“What I see is, I don’t think the batters are doing badly. Kohli seems to be in great form, so you need to focus on your strengths. Kohli is in good rhythm, focused, and aiming for the T20 World Cup squad, so he’ll score runs. I think the batting is good, and with Maxwell or Faf, they have backup,”Stuart Broad said

The 37-year-old, who took 604 Test wickets, shared his honest thoughts on RCB’s fast bowling and suggested using two foreign fast bowlers in the team to improve their chances of success.

“But I believe they should include two foreign bowlers. Their bowling isn’t strong enough, and they don’t think it can win them many matches. I suggest bringing in Reece Topley and Lockie Ferguson as a left-arm swing bowler and a genuine fast bowler. This way, Faf, Virat, and Glenn Maxwell can focus on scoring runs, knowing we have a strong bowling attack to win matches,” Stuart Broad said confidently.
However, Broad told Du Plessis and Co. to make a bold decision of dropping Cameron Green who joined them this season on a massive trade deal from Mumbai Indians for a whopping ₹17.5 crore. The Aussie all-rounder has scored just 54 runs in three matches and picked two wickets at an economy rate of 8.83.
Still, Broad advised Du Plessis and the team to make a brave choice and drop Cameron Green, who was signed this season from Mumbai Indians for a significant amount. Despite his high price, Green has only scored 54 runs and taken two wickets in three matches, with an economy rate of 8.83.

“Yes, it’s a bold move to bench Cameron Green after spending so much money on him. It’s challenging because it goes against the initial belief in him at the start of the season, but I don’t think the team is well-balanced with him in it. I don’t think it looks good. If they’re scoring 180-190 runs, I don’t see them defending that at the moment. So, bring in two overseas bowlers and focus on our batting strengths. Let’s see how that works out,”  Stuart Broad concluded.
