Rohini Acharya might run for the Saran seat where her father Lalu Prasad used to contest. Hints were dropped by Rabri’s ‘Rakhi Brother’.
A few days after PM Narendra Modi strongly criticized regional parties for supporting “dynastic politics” during his speeches in Bihar earlier this month, RJD president Lalu Prasad is reportedly considering launching his another daughter, Rohini Acharya, into politics.
Currently, three of Lalu’s children are involved in politics: his older daughter Misa Bharti, and both his sons, Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, who were previously ministers.
Rohini donated one of her kidneys to her sick father, who had a kidney transplant surgery in a hospital in Singapore in December 2022. Rohini now lives in Singapore.
ROHINI ACHARYA:-Senior RJD MLC Sunil Kumar Singh strongly suggested on Facebook that Rohini might run for her father’s Saran Lok Sabha seat in North Bihar.
“All party workers from the Saran division sincerely hope that Rahini Acharya will be announced as the RJD candidate for the Saran Lok Sabha seat,” Singh, who is very close to the Lalu family and known as the “Rakhi brother” of former CM Rabri Devi, mentioned in his Sunday Facebook post. He also praised Rohini as someone who shows great love, devotion, and dedication to her father.
Lalu was elected from the Chapra seat (which later became known as Saran after boundary changes) when he was 29 years old in 1977. He later represented this seat again in 1989 and 2004.
After Lalu was disqualified from the Lok Sabha because of his conviction in the multi-million dollar fodder scam by the CBI court, he put forward his wife, Rabri Devi, as a candidate from his home seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. However, she lost by approximately 41,000 votes.
Earlier this month, at the opposition’s Jan Vishwas Rally in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, Rohini stood on the stage with her father. He then introduced his daughter to the crowd, sparking speculation about Rohini possibly entering politics.
Rohini, who is very active on social media and often criticizes her parents’ political opponents, earned everyone’s admiration when she donated one of her kidneys to her sick father. At the time, her father’s kidney was only working at 25%, and her donation gave him a new chance at life
Rohini acharya image, outspoken BJP leader Giriraj Singh, praised her, saying, “If you have a daughter, let her be like Rohini Acharya. I’m proud of you. You will be an example for future generations.” Singh expressed his feelings on X.
