MOVIE ‘Article 370′ – Yami Gautam and Priya Mani Shine in a Compelling Tale of Kashmir Politics”

Movie ‘Article 370’the movie starring Yami Gautam and Priya Mani that hit theaters on February 23? Wondering if it’s worth your time? Dive into our review to get the scoop and make an informed decision!”

“I heard about a movie called ‘Article 370’ on TV yesterday. It seems like Prime Minister Narendra Modi thinks it could provide some useful information,” he mentioned at a recent rally in Jammu. However, if you were hoping to jot down notes while watching this Yami Gautam-led film, you might be disappointed. The movie kicks off with a disclaimer, stating that while it’s ‘inspired’ by true events, it’s not a documentary, so expect some creative liberties in the storytelling.”

Movie ‘Article 370’  directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale , a well-crafted film that, unfortunately, challenges your patience with its lengthy runtime of 2 hours and 40 minutes. The filmmaker might have improved the pacing by trimming the first half, which is spent leisurely setting up the storyline. The movie, moving at a slower pace than a tortoise initially, picks up momentum in the latter half, sprinting like a hare towards the finish line with well-paced drama, albeit with some predictable twists.

Movie ‘article 370’ :-The real triumph for the team lies in the stellar performances of the actors. Priya Mani and Yami Gautam, the leading ladies carrying the weight of the narrative, leave a lasting impression. Priya Mani, portraying the joint secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, stands out as the mastermind behind the abrogation of Kashmir’s special status. Yami, playing a character named Zooni with a tragic past, takes on the familiar role of the ‘tough’ officer on duty, a common archetype in Bollywood action films. Zooni’s character, a Kashmiri Pandit, is driven by a deep love for the valley, initiating the storyline. Yet, it becomes somewhat amusing how she consistently delivers the final punch and fires the last bullet, earning her the title of an unbeatable star.

Movie article 370

Structured like a History and Civic book with six chapters, the movie unfolds between 2015 and 2019, aiming to narrate the distressing story of how Kashmir has faced repeated betrayals from politicians and bureaucrats. In their pursuit of staying in power, they’ve permitted radicalization, manipulating the youth into becoming stone-pelters and advocating for ‘Azaadi’. Though the creators label it as an ‘inspired’ film, it’s hard to overlook the portrayal of two Kashmiri leaders resembling Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, albeit in a more negative light.

Praise to the creators for avoiding the obvious route – there’s no bashing of Pakistan or Muslims, a refreshing departure from recent films. What’s more, you won’t find any cliché dialogues or overly patriotic songs trying to prove someone’s love for the country. The movie boasts impressive production value, a trait previously showcased in Aditya Dhar’s ‘Uri’ (2019). While not overly jingoistic, ‘Article 370’ does carry a certain propaganda value, aiming to shine a spotlight on the BJP government, especially in the lead-up to the general elections.

There are some far-fetched theories about the Kashmiri autonomy movement in the film that might prompt you to dig into the actual history. It seems like that’s what the PM meant when he mentioned that ‘Article 370’ could be ‘useful for people to get correct information’.
