Farmer Protest:-Following the conclusion of the antim bhog ceremony for farmer Shubhkaran Singh, who tragically lost his life in clashes last month, farmer groups leading the ‘Delhi Challo’ movement declared their intention to journey to the capital on March 6 using various modes of transportation, including trains, buses, airplanes, and even on foot. Their aim is to intensify the pressure on the Modi government.
“Jagjit Singh Dallewal, leader of the farmers’ protest in Punjab, mentioned that the government suggested farmers march to Delhi without their tractors. In response, farmers are adjusting their approach to reach Delhi and observe how they are treated during peaceful farmer protests.”
Farmer protest :- “Dallewal also said they plan to block trains for one day on March 10, from noon to 4 pm, as part of their protest.”

Farmer protest :-“He asked people across the country to understand that this protest isn’t just for Haryana, Punjab, or Shubhkaran. It’s a nationwide protest, and everyone should support it. He believes that if farmers prosper, the whole country will prosper.
“Farmers protest have been asking for a legal promise on Minimum Support Price (MSP), which they say the Modi government agreed to when they repealed three farm laws in 2020 during the last protest.”
“Because their request wasn’t met, farmer groups, especially branches of SKM (which was important in the 2020 farmer protest), started moving towards Delhi on February 13 from different places in Punjab.”
“But, the police at the Punjab-Haryana borders in Shambhu and Khanauri stopped them by using tear gas and excessive force.”
“In multiple clashes since then, many farmers and police officers have suffered severe injuries.”
“One of them was a 22-year-old farmer named Shubhkaran Singh from Bhatinda’s Ballo village, who lost his life during the clashes at Khanuari border on February 21.”
“His body was cremated a week later, on February 29, after Punjab police filed a murder case following pressure from farmer groups. According to media reports, an autopsy confirmed the initial suspicion that he died from a gunshot wound to the back of his head.”
Stir to continue on borders
He mentioned that more farmer protestor would join at Shambhu and Khannauri in the upcoming days, and they plan to cover all the other border points between Punjab and Haryana too.
Pandher stated that farmers protest won’t give up . They’ll keep fighting until they secure a legal assurance for MSP, emphasizing that it’s something they won’t compromise on.
“It’s crucial for the future of farmers. We can’t ensure profitable farming unless farmers are guaranteed a price set by the government,” Pandher emphasized.
Punjab BJP chief questions farmer leaders
“Punjab’s BJP leader, Sunil Jakhar, stated in a press conference that the Union government is buying all the wheat and paddy produced in Punjab at MSP. He questioned the purpose of the farmer leaders’ battle.”
