Last August, Binny Bansal, Excel Company, and Tiger Global Management sold their shares to Walmart. Binny made around 1.5 billion dollars from the sale. In May 2018, five years after Walmart acquired a 77 percent stake in Flipkart for $16 billion, they decided to part ways. The agreement not to compete with Walmart ends in 2023, completing the five-year term. Now, Binny Bansal is free to venture into the e-commerce sector .
