After Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai , Sergey Brin, the co-founder of Google, also expressed his thoughts on the issue, admitting that the Gemini AI chatbot made mistakes.

Gemini received criticism for generating images that were historically inaccurate, which even CEO Sundar Pichai found unacceptable. Now, Google’s co-founder, Sergey Brin, has also admitted that the Gemini AI chatbot made mistakes.

Brin shared these thoughts at the AGI House in California, highlighting Google’s mistake in image generation. He admitted, “We definitely messed up on the image generation; I think it was mostly due to just not thorough testing and it definitely, for good reasons, upset a lot of people.”

After the problem with Gemini’s images, It has paused Gemini’s capability to create images for now. Additionally, the chatbot has been criticized for giving inappropriate responses and not condemning pedophilia.

It’s important to mention that Sergey Brin is no longer actively working at Google, but he’s still a board member along with Larry Page. Recently, Brin has become more engaged, and according to reports, he’s returned from retirement because he finds the developments in AI very exciting.

That being said, Gemini caused controversy in India when asked about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As a result, MeitY issued an advisory on March 1 for platforms using generative AI models and algorithms. The advisory stresses the need for these platforms to obtain explicit permission from the Indian government before launching. Additionally, companies must ensure their models don’t share any illegal content, and failure to comply could lead to penalties.
